Last years Antihistamine No Synth compilation was water. This years is earth. Rocks to be precise. I have a childish sense of humor so making "rock" music that isn't Rock Music really tickles me. I am also a virgo and at least peripherally interested in paganism so referencing the elements once more with this compilation felt fitting. Should I keep going? Should next year be fire? Maybe entire comp of renditions of Annea Lockwood's Piano burning?

The instructions were pretty simple make "music" using the sound of rocks. Make that sound prominent, and no synth. The results of these prompts always surprise me, but this one in particular seemed to resonate with folks. Some people immediately had something. Some really struggled to get that right, close recording to capture just what they wanted from the earth. Folks used pebbles, gravel, hail, and even crystals rubbed on percussive instruments. What a rad community of folks that come to Histamine Tapes.
