All sounds were made using pebbles collected from Dungeness beach.

Looking for some continuous grinding noises to loop, I used a clip-on contact mic to hold pebbles in place on a record deck arm while they scratched the surfaces of the deck. Also, using a field recorder I played with scratching pebbles against each other for some really interesting textures.

The only effects I applied were distortion (driving the gain through a mixer or 4 track), the Chase Bliss MOOD 2 pedal to play with some pitching and a little reverb.
