A handmade mono piezo hydrophone was immersed in a glass of Diet Coke, most of the sound generated derived from me gently blowing bubbles into the drink with a straw and allowing it just to fizz and pop away. The hydrophone was running through a delay, reverb, and EQ pedal and being documented onto a Tascam MF-P01 4-Track Portastudio with a 30 second loop cassette. Three 30 second tracks were captured, then played back on the Tascam, subtly mixing, and fading all three tracks in and out.
A simple but fun setup to experiment with, the Coke providing a surprisingly diverse and textured range of sound.
