This is a preorder for the cassette version of the compilation. I won't be able to start production of these until winter of 2024. These tapes will be shipped out in order of purchase as I have time to make them.

This is over three hours of music on three separate cassette tapes. It comes housed in cello bags recovered from a local business, and comes with a zine I created using recovered art from various publications purchased from thrift stores and free piles. The cover is an accidental art collage made from scraps of previous HT releases that I scanned and printed from a old broken printer.

It's been five years since I began Histamine Tapes and that felt like a milestone to celebrate. If I have learned anything from my journey with this label (actually I've learned so much!) its that not many experimental cassette labels make it this far. I set out to make HT a label that would stick around forever. I wanted to build resilience into the label from the beginning so that I didn't just burn out quickly and fold. I certainly haven't been able to keep up like I did in year one, and I'm not sure how many releases I have left in me, but I still very much love sharing with you all the music that I love, and hope to keep this running in some fashion for at least the next 5 (will the planet last that long?).

The release of this album hit a major roadblock on July 10th when record rainfall came down in my part of the world. The two major town centers nearest to me were under several feet of Winooski river water. Many peoples houses and businesses were destroyed and much uncertainty has arisen about how to rebuild our community in the face of anthropogenic climate change. I feel compelled to give all the money raised by this album to flood relief efforts. The price has been set to pay what you want so all folks can enjoy this music, but if you have the means please consider a putting some money into this. Or just take a free download, but also donate at the link below.

have yet to translate the song titles so the artist's intentions are somewhat of a mystery to me, but the wavering surface noise creates the theme of a dialogue between music & technology before becoming invisible to my ears. this conjures memories of listening to music as a child (long before the sterility of digital media), when i rarely took notice of the hiss & pops of records, 8-tracks, tapes, & am radio because they were a normal, necessary aspect of recorded sound. nice to be back again.
