Book of Endangered Species reflects sorrow and concern over the continuing destruction of our natural world. It is a journey through various landscapes, real or imagined...possibly in a future where no such natural beauty exists anymore. Pollution, greed, neglect, and a denial of science by those in power have cast a shadow upon our environment. These songs serve as a conduit to bring the listener back to the purest elements in our surroundings, to be aware and receptive to the sights and sounds around you, while the noise of human “progress” fades into the distance.
Torrential storms searing across the plains
Water kissed leaves falling to the muddy jungle floor
Animal bones washed down streams and out to seas
specked with jutting ancient rock formations
Primitive explorations for the archeological mind
Arrowounds is the solo project of musician/artist Ryan Chamberlain, which provides an outlet for his more experimental ambient and electronic soundscapes, far removed from the “rock” world. Taking a deep interest in nature to heart, most of Arrowounds work explicitly references explorations into various landscapes as well as concern over mankind's treatment of the environment. Field recordings play as much a part in the music as any instrument, folding into one another until the differences are blurred into harmony
