dudgrickbevins HAKANAI is an album about impermanence and it’s well crafted. Every cover is different cover is different and allows you to create your own version with sliding cards. The tape is recycled and on my B side the new music ran out and I found out I really like RICKY NELSON. There was also a random note from the artists scraps in the tape case. All of the recycling, changing, and personal artifact really carries the theme throughout. Lovely experience.

The Lifted Index There is so much character wrapped up in these six tracks. I love the way Ferreira uses noise throughout his compositions; soft and beautiful, blanketing the melodies and sweet consonances in the songs. Favorite track: Nausea.

"Hakanai" is a Japanese word that means “transient, short-lived, momentary, ephemeral...” and so
on. It was an album that I produced a few years ago, inspired by the works of Japanese writer
Yasunari Kawabata, which I was reading at the time. The way he describes human emotions and the
passage of time had a big impact on me, so I was immediately inspired to create a soundtrack for
the images that his writing created in my mind.
